Yes, we offer comprehensive concepts for our customers where we take care of everything from choosing the right components, to building a batting cage and managing all installation. We customize everything according to wishes and budget, so contact us for help choosing the simulator that suits your needs.
This of course depends on your budget and space. High quality golf simulators like Trackman offer a very good product but can be on the more expensive side. Other companies such as Full Swing, Foresight or Flightscope offer very competitive technology and often at a much more competitive price. We can work with any simulator and would be able to give you our opinion on which gives the most value for money.
No, unfortunately you cannot use any projector for a golf simulator. Office projectors or large event projectors usually do not have the correct throw distance (the distance from the tip of the projector lens to the screen). Depending on the light in the room, it is even more important to get the correct lumen (brightness) of your projector, so be sure to consult us before you buy so that you are not disappointed with the quality of the results.
Considering all the components and details that are crucial for a good and fully functional simulator, we recommend that you take help from us to plan the construction and to get the right components. Contact us so we can understand your unique needs. Then we can go over the best options to give you the best indoor golf experience.
Tracking systems measure and calculate crucial parameters such as club speed, ball speed, impact angle, loft, spin and the like in real time. All these data points are fed into the algorithms, which calculate carry and total length. This data is then processed and fed into the golf simulation software. Finally, the data is sent out from your computer through a projector so you can see everything happening on the screen. For most modern systems, this entire process is completed in a fraction of a second, so the virtual ball moves in time with your actual ball as it hits the screen, creating a seamless and engaging experience.
Each manufacturer and launch monitor has its own method of measuring and calculating crucial parameters such as club speed, ball speed, impact angle, loft, spin, etc. All of these measurements go into the carry and total length algorithms, but not all systems are created equal. It may differ marginally between the different systems. The manufacturers we have chosen to work with show very reliable figures.
Tracking systems are designed to track golf balls traveling at very high speeds so it should come as no surprise that most on the market can handle the slow roll of an accurate putt with ease. Concerns in this regard are usually created by previous versions of golf simulators that hit the market many years ago. Today's high-speed camera and radar systems provide amazing, real-time accuracy.
When it comes to mounting, there is unfortunately no rule of thumb or universal solution. Each projector has a unique throw distance (the distance from the tip of the projector lens to the screen) that is affected by your screen size and aspect ratio. Since this is so crucial to set up correctly, we recommend taking a look at our "Simulator Planner" or contact us for help.
In an ideal world, we prefer to place the ball 3-4 meters from the screen. That said, we can work in tighter spaces and still design an excellent simulator. See our "Simulator Planner" for more info or contact us with questions.
Generally speaking, 2.7 meters ceiling height is the minimum requirement for a golf simulator, with 3 meters considered a more comfortable height. To see more about the measurements you need for a simulator, check out our "Simulator Planner" or contact us.
When used correctly (and consistently), golf simulators definitely can and should improve your game. Access to real-time swing data, as well as the accuracy of data now available through modern golf simulators. With a basic knowledge of what the parameters mean, you can train in the right way to see improvements on the course the next time you play. Make sure you post a training plan!
